The World Muscle Society has once again awarded the Duchenne Research Fund prize at the annual WMS international congress, supporting a talented researcher in the Duchenne arena.

The winner at the 28th congress in Charleston, South Carolina, USA, in October 2023 was Dr Stefan Nicolau, a research fellow at the Center for Gene Therapy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Ohio, for his work entitled: “Clinical spectrum and molecular features of asymptomatic and paucisymptomatic DMD mutations.” Read more about his research here.

The Duchenne Research Fund has been a proud sponsor of the Duchenne Research Fund Prize at the World Muscle Society’s annual international congress. The award has recognised the work of a young Duchenne muscular dystrophy researcher for over a decade.

The 29th congress will take place in Prague, on 8-12 October 2024.
